Tigh na Fraoch is gaelic for 'House of the Heather' and is pronounced 'tie na fru-och'.

All our rooms are named after varieties of heather - 'Carolyn', 'Mauvelyn' and 'Reini'.

WELCOME

We look forward to welcoming you to share our beautiful home in the Cairngorms National Park.

This is an excellent base from which to enjoy the many leisure activities available in the delightful area in which we live; from the spectacular scenery to the cultural heritage. Walkers, bird watchers and photographers are particularly welcome, especially as we are both members of the RSPB (Royal Society for Protection of Birds) and the RPS (Royal Photographic Society).

Loch Garten

RSPB

The RSPB Abernethy reserve, extending to some 50 square miles is a short forest walk away, with the world famous Osprey Centre just down the road.

You can watch the antics of the Ospreys or if you're really keen make a very early start to join in the Cappercaille Watch in May.

RPS

David is an Associate of the RPS and Jenny is a Licentiate of the RPS.

Both are keen amateur photographers, mainly interested in landscape and wildlife photography.
